Ganked this from Morgan, but here is a shot Saturday morning when I 1st parked the Car

This blog entry comes on the tip of what for me is a sweet success. I was able to get the car situation worked out and take it to its first event. Import Alliance 2010, dubbed the “fifthtenial,” was probably the biggest import and compact car event of the year. The car had a great position all weekend, too, parked right beside the Import Alliance booth in the gated area around the paddocks.
Here is where it gets better, though. Not only did the car make the event, but I was able to stay busy all weekend. From questions about the car to questions about what’s going on with the companies I work with, people just wanted to know it’s like. I had no shortage of things to tell everyone either, but it was nice to show that, even though the build had a great amount of support, that things can always go wrong. But the response from people was a warm welcome; it was amazing! When I cranked the car up, people all around came over to just hear it and talk about the motor build.

Here’s a snippet of the ride at Import Alliance thanks to Loi and that awesome Canon he keeps in his pocket!

[/box]

The top three things I heard all weekend were:
1. Skunk2 is a badass company. Diid they send anyone out?
2. Who is Whoopeedoo Racing? I have heard a lot about that trans you have and I want mine done. Are they located in the South?
3. Is this a stock color from BASF or is it special?
But to go in more on Skunk2, I heard more and more people talk about my Fuel Rail, Intake Manifold, and Throttle Body. When people saw tb they instantly knew it was the 74mm. Everyone was up on game. The intake manifold brought a number of “they make it in black?” comments, but when I told them that it was not black out of the box it opened some eyes to the possibility of modifications to the lineup of Skunk2 parts. Does this mean I might take some of the parts off the car and custom coat them. Only time will tell.
Check out some pics!

Here I am with Sarah, Morgan, and Loi on top of the grandstands at Nashville Superspeedway with Import Alliance going down in the background.

This is the 1st of a number of gas stops! Using the Hummer for tow was not as bad as I guessed it would be, and actually proved to be useful. It was also an added bonus when picking up Morgan Jade and Loi

On Saturday, while we were on our way back from the SICC rain out, my friend Jared hit the blackberry messenger with a message saying lets meet up when we are rolling through Columbia. Through some more rain, dark sections of I-95 and I-20, some of the best southern non-top 40 music I have heard lately, and a few energy drinks, we got to Cola about midnight. Rolling up, we pulled in right behind Jared and before you know it, I am already out of the car combing one of the holy grails to most Honda Owners. Read the rest of this entry »

I will just call him Jeff, because for those of you who do know him and do business with him, he and you are on a first name basis. When he calls, there is no hello, no hi, or any soft greetings of that nature. Instead, you get the bullshitting tones you hear when you 1st walk into the garage at your local shop, or most of the automotive dealership’s tech bays around the US. This dude gives it up straight. I have no worries that you guys will come to enjoy the stories of him and his time around Greasy Blocks, along with his EK. I hope this thing does well during the season, because he put enough time into it on his kitchen table. Dude seriously needs his own shop, but ill let you guys be the judge of that! Ryan hit me up in an email last week mentioning he had a new video of some practice. I WISH I was in kids shoes! That looks too fun! Not to mention the filming is dope too. This video scores high on my list of videos I have seen lately.

“It feels like a breath of fresh air”

…or at least that’s what I have been recently been telling people it feels like.  About the time of August this past year I didn’t have the feeling about things that I normally do. Normally I am at many of the car events out or going on, I am excited for each and every new thing I see going on, and I am constantly at the drag strip, either behind the wheel or on the sidelines talking shit.  I stopped feeling for all of that. And with added stress from the daily ins and outs of life, I was sick of doing anything automotive related.

About the October time, I turned my left cheek and said “Fuck it, I need a break” and bounced from doing pretty much everything. Did not want to hear about my car build, which was the biggest bomb of my automotive career ever. Still, I needed a break from it all. Photography didn’t feel the same, writing felt like it had no substance, and there was jack shit going on in the south. I am not in another area, so I am not going to write too much about other areas at that point. I figured to take a break, let things ride out, get a chance to have a few months without cars on the brain, and try to get fresh for the year coming up. So now, say hello to Greasy Blocks 2010!

This year, I still plan to bring y’all the word from whats going down on the corners and blocks, along with more of my photography than any of you have ever seen. Domestic heads will love it around here, and those who are nuts over the Imports will have no shortage of fast cars to follow up on.

On hit for Greasy this year:

  1. More domestic streetcars, drag cars, shit talk and call outs
  2. Bikes and the women who love them
  3. The fastest import street cars on the east coast

Greasy will be following a few people this year. Some of our 1st to be followed will be:

Jeff Rosario (Can the pump gas king break off his best year yet?

Eddie Pegan (Proccoevo is now a 8second, 1000hp player!)

Daniel Alaniz (Illest kid with the camera on the street in so-cal/south central?)

There will be more coming, but these are the guys I plan to kick off the season with. I plan to show you the backside to what these guys are doing as well.

But last but not least I have something to leave a few people with, who have as dirt in their mouth…

I have to give hats off to my man Miller for breaking 180mph. You already know that Nyce1s.com was in the house, and their video just dropped. Peep it, comment on it, let me know what you think.

There is another video floating around thats pretty good. The guy holding the camera says “That bitch says 180″ and it pretty much makes the video! Check it out on Death Machines.

PS: Miller and Nrg Tech, you guys should make that a limited edition t-shirt, sticker, mug, or something! Don’t let us down!!!
