Ganked this from Morgan, but here is a shot Saturday morning when I 1st parked the Car
[/box]
This blog entry comes on the tip of what for me is a sweet success. I was able to get the car situation worked out and take it to its first event. Import Alliance 2010, dubbed the “fifthtenial,” was probably the biggest import and compact car event of the year. The car had a great position all weekend, too, parked right beside the Import Alliance booth in the gated area around the paddocks.
Here is where it gets better, though. Not only did the car make the event, but I was able to stay busy all weekend. From questions about the car to questions about what’s going on with the companies I work with, people just wanted to know it’s like. I had no shortage of things to tell everyone either, but it was nice to show that, even though the build had a great amount of support, that things can always go wrong. But the response from people was a warm welcome; it was amazing! When I cranked the car up, people all around came over to just hear it and talk about the motor build.

Here’s a snippet of the ride at Import Alliance thanks to Loi and that awesome Canon he keeps in his pocket!

The top three things I heard all weekend were:
1. Skunk2 is a badass company. Diid they send anyone out?
2. Who is Whoopeedoo Racing? I have heard a lot about that trans you have and I want mine done. Are they located in the South?
3. Is this a stock color from BASF or is it special?
But to go in more on Skunk2, I heard more and more people talk about my Fuel Rail, Intake Manifold, and Throttle Body. When people saw tb they instantly knew it was the 74mm. Everyone was up on game. The intake manifold brought a number of “they make it in black?” comments, but when I told them that it was not black out of the box it opened some eyes to the possibility of modifications to the lineup of Skunk2 parts. Does this mean I might take some of the parts off the car and custom coat them. Only time will tell.

This is the 1st of a number of gas stops! Using the Hummer for tow was not as bad as I guessed it would be, and actually proved to be useful. It was also an added bonus when picking up Morgan Jade and Loi

Thats right, LS7. That swap is hot, it is the perfect motor IMO, and it has tons of room in the bay. Is this becoming more popular? I sure hope so!

This blog entry comes late from another site, but still on the tip of what for me is a sweet success. I was able to get the car situation worked out and take it to its first event. Whoopeedoo Racing is out of Tennessee ran by Chris Tybor, also known as Aquafina on many forums. What Whoopeedoo racing brings to the table is an extremely accurate service for building transmissions and and gear sets. Being the chief installer for Mfactory of North America, Chris has skilled hands when the casing is open. We sat there at his house while changing a gear set in my FG2 transmission and within 3 hours we were ready to ride! He has a new website under development at the time, but you can easily get contact with Chris at Whoopeedoo Racing to find out more about his services and packages. His email is [email protected] and he is prompt with his contacts. I will have some info up about what he does here soon, along with some photos of him in action. I wish he couldve been at the event himself to answer many of your questions for those who asked about the trans.
The BASF color on my car is known as Teal Blue Pearl, and is a 3stage paint. I couldnt be more excited to have a color on my car. The blend is flawless and it has such a hue in the sun that you cannot help but to turn your head and look at it. More on this color, and the build up of this color to come within the next week or so.
Check out the pics!
So now that I have a rolling car and some more events lined up, stay tuned and see what happens next.
