The man behind the 2nd Annual $5,000 All Motor FWD Shootout, Jake “Hollywood” Gavio hits up Greasyblocks with information about his S2000 powered Coupe and the Shootout!

1. Was the Shoot Out last year a Success?
2. People were talking how you were running around like a mad man to make sure things went as smooth as possible. Thats a kick ass attitude. Is this the same Jake we will see this year?
3. Looking at things this year, you already have 12 racers with deposits down. Your race is looking more solid than the Borg Warner Outlaw Class at the moment. Could this be attributed to the intense nature of the All Motor Competitors?
4. The All Motor Shootout has a number of bounties offered. Could you give me a list of these and who they are offered by?
5. In addition to keeping up with the event, you are also a competitor. How do you keep your head on with all of that going on?
6. This field is K dominated, with a current count of 7k, 2h, 2b, 1f (i dont have the current count, if you could help me update that would be great) what would you say to the non K-series competitors who are looking to enter?
7. How is your car running? Has it been consistent with your times and mph, or are you still trying to work the kinks out?
8. What wheels are those on your car? I always mean to ask you, but never do. Maybe it is the custom color coating but they look like Exospeed wheels. Are you happy with them?
9. Any sneak info to whats new on the car, or are you going to make me wait and tell everyone after the event?
10. Jake, its always a pleasure. What other last pre-deadline info should competitors be aware of?

1. Was the Shoot Out last year a Success?

Last year’s shootout was definitely a success. we had 18 total entries, 16 car field and 14 cars made it to the line for 1st round of elims. More importantly everyone in the all motor scene came together and showed we could draw a crowd, just like our boosted bretheren lol. Having Jerry come out from the west was a great thing as well. He brought the whole west coast with him and we were all able to put on a great show. It was a great success.

2. People were talking how you were running around like a mad man to make sure things went as smooth as possible. That’s a kick ass attitude. Is this the same Jake we will see this year?

Haha thank you . I was definitely running around like crazy last year. I wanted everything to be perfect, everyone to have what they needed and everyone to know what was going on. However it was not accomplished by just any lone individual’s effort. Roger, Javier and the rest of the OGS staff made it happen just as much as I did. I will definitely be that same person this year. If anyone needs anything, I will still run around trying to get it done for them. It may be a little tougher now that I am also racing this year, but I’m sure you will still see me running around .

3. Looking at things this year, you already have 12 racers with deposits down. Your race is looking more solid than the Borg Warner Outlaw Class at the moment. Could this be attributed to the intense nature of the All Motor Competitors?

I wouldn’t say we are looking more solid then the turbo shootout. Its hard to compare the two classes. Outlaw turbo is just an entirely different monster in comparison to our all motor category. Brian and the outlaw turbo racers will surely put on a great show. All motor guys are definitely hardcore. We have 3 people signed up from the west coast and a few more that I have spoken to, who will also be coming out. I have done that drive before and let me tell you it is not an easy one. Most on the east coast are also thrashing to get ready for this race. I always say that competition breeds competition so everyone in the all motor scene is just pushing the envelope and in turn are pushing each other to step their game up.

4. The All Motor Shootout has a number of bounties offered. Could you give me a list of these and who they are offered by?

5. In addition to keeping up with the event, you are also a competitor. How do you keep your head on with all of that going on?

This year is insane . That’s the best word for it. As I help organize the AM Shootout there are many things that need to get done and I feel like I am constantly answering questions and/or trying to help people get to the race. As a competitor I want my personal car to be on point. As a member of TGR I also need to help Tim get his car ready for the event. As a friend , there are quite a few people that I am helping get their cars ready to race, I am flying down to Florida the week before the event to help a friend/competitor drive up just to make sure we can get him here. So trying to handle all of that is very hard. But luckily I also have great friends, family and teamates who have my back just as much as I have theirs. They will not let me fail in any aspect. Without their help I would surely lose it haha.

6. This field is K dominated, with a current count of 7-K, 2-H, 1-B, 1-F so far what would you say to the non K-series competitors who are looking to enter?

I would say to the competitors that anything can happen on any given day. People are making great power with motors besides Ks. Even if they feel they are outgunned with power, you can make it up in other areas as some have shown already.

7. How is your car running? Has it been consistent with your times and mph, or are you still trying to work the kinks out?

My car has been running great the past few events. Randy @ RStech , Tim Grey @ TGR, Jeremy @ Inline Pro and the Import DPS team have all helped me tremendously to dial it in . We finally got most of the issues figured out , but we are still fighting some . Being the only F2K car out there limits me to who I can turn to for advice. Its really just trial and error. There are always things to improve. As long as there are people out there like Pepsi, Loan, Tim, Leo pushing the limits, I will be working on it and making changes to keep ahead of the curve.

8. What wheels are those on your car? I always mean to ask you, but never do. Maybe it is the custom color coating but they look like Exospeed wheels. Are you happy with them?

The wheels I run are Exospeed Star-8s. They are very nice wheels and have definitely stood up well to the abuse I put them through! Mine are custom colored to match the car.

9. Any sneak info to whats new on the car, or are you going to make me wait and tell everyone after the event?

Haha you had to put me on the spot. Right now my car is ripped apart. I am making some small changes in order to come out swinging on Oct 9-10th. All I can say is that the madman/genius named Jeremy Allen at Inline Pro is putting in some long hours to make sure the TGR cars will be running hard at the event. As for everything else, you will just have to see what ET pops up after our first qualifying passes.

10. Jake, its always a pleasure. What other last pre-deadline info should competitors be aware of?

The pleasure is all mine. Just show up ready to race. Please read the rules extensively. If you show up and do not meet the rules then it is no one else’s fault except your own ! The deposit deadline is Sept. 24th. If you put your deposit in before that date, then your team logo will appear on the shootout shirts. If not, then it wont! Other then that, be ready for a great weekend of racing !

Jake, I would like to thank you, Roger, Javier, Tim Grey and OGS on behalf of everyone who enjoys this event so much. Many people follow this event and do not share their excitement with watching it play by play, and their voices will be heard when this event goes into the books!
