Ryan hit me up in an email last week mentioning he had a new video of some practice. I WISH I was in kids shoes! That looks too fun! Not to mention the filming is dope too. This video scores high on my list of videos I have seen lately.

Make sure to follow up on how Ryan’s 2010 season in Formula D goes by checking out both GardellaRacing.com and Deathmachines.net.

“It feels like a breath of fresh air”

…or at least that’s what I have been recently been telling people it feels like.  About the time of August this past year I didn’t have the feeling about things that I normally do. Normally I am at many of the car events out or going on, I am excited for each and every new thing I see going on, and I am constantly at the drag strip, either behind the wheel or on the sidelines talking shit.  I stopped feeling for all of that. And with added stress from the daily ins and outs of life, I was sick of doing anything automotive related.

About the October time, I turned my left cheek and said “Fuck it, I need a break” and bounced from doing pretty much everything. Did not want to hear about my car build, which was the biggest bomb of my automotive career ever. Still, I needed a break from it all. Photography didn’t feel the same, writing felt like it had no substance, and there was jack shit going on in the south. I am not in another area, so I am not going to write too much about other areas at that point. I figured to take a break, let things ride out, get a chance to have a few months without cars on the brain, and try to get fresh for the year coming up. So now, say hello to Greasy Blocks 2010!

This year, I still plan to bring y’all the word from whats going down on the corners and blocks, along with more of my photography than any of you have ever seen. Domestic heads will love it around here, and those who are nuts over the Imports will have no shortage of fast cars to follow up on.

On hit for Greasy this year:

  1. More domestic streetcars, drag cars, shit talk and call outs
  2. Bikes and the women who love them
  3. The fastest import street cars on the east coast

Greasy will be following a few people this year. Some of our 1st to be followed will be:

Jeff Rosario (Can the pump gas king break off his best year yet?

Eddie Pegan (Proccoevo is now a 8second, 1000hp player!)

Daniel Alaniz (Illest kid with the camera on the street in so-cal/south central?)

There will be more coming, but these are the guys I plan to kick off the season with. I plan to show you the backside to what these guys are doing as well.

But last but not least I have something to leave a few people with, who have as dirt in their mouth…

I have to give hats off to my man Miller for breaking 180mph. You already know that Nyce1s.com was in the house, and their video just dropped. Peep it, comment on it, let me know what you think.

There is another video floating around thats pretty good. The guy holding the camera says “That bitch says 180″ and it pretty much makes the video! Check it out on Death Machines.

PS: Miller and Nrg Tech, you guys should make that a limited edition t-shirt, sticker, mug, or something! Don’t let us down!!!

Tjin Edition Camaro almost ready

Now normally I don’t post build news like this, but I have an extreme addiction to the new Camaro. My colleague Neil Tjin sent over an email to me earlier in the week speaking of his new build for the Tjin Edition Tour. After seeing the car and some of the parts, I was blown away! Not normally what we see out of domestics here in the south, but a very strong build! Maybe we can see more stuff like this here in the southern states! I am sure the car will be down here for a few shows and events. I will keep you all posted on the Tjin Edition Tour schedule. The car will debut at Sema Monday, and Greasy Blocks will have more pictures of this car coming up… (more…)

Project FIREFLY gets a motor!

Its hella late right now and normally I would be up chatting on various social networks but I just have to show you all what is cooking in my pot right now. As you can see here, its my 2000 Civic Si, and that motor from the Skunk2 Blog I have. Well, after months or setbacks, bullcrap, and procrastination it finally found a cozy home in my engine bay. Thanks to John Hicks and JJH customs, that black engine bay isn’t just a black engine bay, its glass! I will post more as I get it but this probably is the best thing that has happened all year in terms of this build taking place. Now, I plan to crash. Stay up on this!

GET GREASY – The Introduction

First, I want to thank you all for coming to check out the opening of the site. The thought behind this site has been around for a while. Here is an introduction for you all to the idea behind Greasy Blocks.

We all hear the same blab from people here and there about how companies do this and that. Saying this over and over is only talk. The coverage here will be of much different content as your normal E’zine. With that being said, competition is not the goal of Greasy Blocks. We are here to serve the sport and to help our industry grow. Publication and information is the way, not closing the market and a limited point of view.

The voice of the streets will be heard on Greasy Blocks. The site is here to cater to the owners, drivers, and fans who do not get exposure. We believe that the action on the street is the best content to expose. The meets, the drag strip, the cruise in spots, and the hang outs.  Content here will be a mixture of every vehicle type possible. You will find anything and everything here, even a few postings that you were not expecting.

Greasy Blocks will have every type of posting from Features to Random Automotive pictures from across the nation. Here is a quick rundown of what will take place around here:

  • Random Posting
  • Seeing fast cars (dents do not matter, paint is optional, and opinions vary!)
  • Drag Racing is GOLDEN
  • Import’s, Euro’s, and Domestic’s of all types and makes will see space around these parts
  • Truck, SUV, Diesel, Mud, and Climbing will also be seen around these parts
  • Video posting from all over the nation (street and track action)
  • MOST IMPORTANTLY… You will see bullet lists of modifications (because we all hate reading when we don’t have to!)

In closing, we want to welcome the ears and eyes of many user’s across the nation. Time have changed, and so should the way we publicize!
