Friday Morning I got up, Cleaned up, and then bounced out on the road headed for Little Rock. This is only like a 2 hour ride.
Weather was perfect though, so it made time to take a grip of pictures
Took a stroll through Memphis on my way out of town.
Fianlly hit 40 and saw signs of flooding from the get go.
Down by the river.
So long Tennessee
The flooding had not gotten bad yet.
What up Arkansas!
Waters were so high!
Saw this Corvette Pace Car Edition
For the next 30+ miles you could see signs of storm and flood damage
40 was closed due to secvere flooding so we had to take a detour. I thought at the most it would be an hour and there was not much traffic so I did not have worries of sitting.
…over an hour later, over 20 miles away, somewhere with Rice fields and trains. Had no clue of where I was at. It was hot, Intake temps got in the 140s, so I shut it down. Constant temp never got over 179, thanks for the datalog option Hondata!
Finally turned on some route going back towards 40, or so I thought!
Old classic cars all in the area!
This part of the road was upsetting to me because we started going through housing areas and all with houses just DESTROYED by water. Looked like a wave came through and hit some of these mobile homes. I will let the pics talk some.
From what I was told by a driver recently, this road is now closed too, and you have to detour even further around the state.
Finally got off of the detour and where am I? Off highway 67 78 miles from Little Rock. Damn…up in the state!
almost 100 miles away and I am STILL seeing standing water in mass amounts!
Last shot before my camera battery said F-U!
This drive was humbling. While it was good to finally get back on the road it bothered me to see what I saw. My prayers go out to those not as fortunate as we are to have the small things we take for granted. Be on the lookout for the Oklahoma City post!
On the road! Finally done with all that shitty weather! Check out the ride to Little Rock!
