For years, movies have centered around the great “Road Trip” across the states, weather it be Clark Griswold taking his family to Wally World or Thelma and Louise going all the way, every one of us have watched some type of motion picture showing off a multi-state journey. But as of late, the only travel trips many of us take are to automotive events, packed out concert venues, and flying to exotic destinations.
Well I have had a plan for a road trip for some time, that has became more of an obsession really. I have wanted to see the states, but did not feel like renting a car to do such a drive in. Instead, I wanted to do the drive in a highly modded car just to see the way it felt. I would almost compare this to watching people do these trips and classic cars, and the all too far common convertible. My goal was to see the states taking as many pics as I can while enjoying the food and culture of the area I was in. Never could get off work for it, and I never really had a reason to do it. In 2008, I tried this and flopped, and in 2009 I began rebuilding the car. What a fucking nightmare that was. I do not know what was worse, some companies I had to work with, wasting time with painters and missed deadlines for shipping, or the cracked piston issue in 2010.
Now, spring 2011, I plan to take this trip and take the path from South Carolina to California uncovering as many food joints and sights as possible, and to test the stability of the products we purchase and market on a regular basis. 2500 miles of abuse will go to the fully built K24 in my 2000 Si, and through posting we will see how well the setup responds to being used in a 100% true daily driven form. Join in for the updates and the ride details. The blogs posted will be very random, half of the time might not make sense to you, the grammar will not be correct, and the stories will be funny!
