We LOVE spectator videos!!!!!! Shot outs to the guys at BMC race!

All week long the forums stayed lit-up with the “who is gonna win” talk about the grudge match between Miller and Tony. People just knew up and down who was gonna take it. What we did not know is that there was gonna be a fucking flood at the event. Shot outs to Cliff for trying, and we here at Greasy hate that it rained our for you. I remember with the Nyce1s race, people were quick to judge and talk about bad planning instead of the fact that weather happens. Be glad you didn’t get that. But then again, we all know how these folks can be.

Biggest shot outs to my man Tim. Dude kept his celly on hot, and probably used more data stream in a day that most of us will use in months with his generous life feed of the event. Instead of having a forum full of judgments, like we did in previous I JUST NAMED RACES, he let us see things for ourselves. I stayed on the ustream chat that Tim aka IHAVETURBOS had all day long watching and just as eager as everyone else was to see this go down. At peak, 7pm, there were over 440 people in the stream watching, and over 60 actively commenting. That chat was full of a bunch of fucktardary, which I gladly took place in, but it was a clear sign that the 2011 season will be a strong season with proper support. This shit basically rained out, yet there was a line longer than 70% of last years races according to a few unnamed racers. Think about if it would’ve been dry. What kind of jump off this would’ve been.

Tony and Miller both showed me what their prep weekend was like too! I asked them a few questions, and never posted this but figured I would share to show you all what really went into this week prepping for this race.

Tony1:

GB: Yo Tony, has anything been really trying this week? You having a hard time with the setup for the race?
T1: (Jan 27th email) Finish the 25.5 cage, done. Get cage certified, done. Assemble trans, waiting on gears, be here TOMORROW! Need to put the new turbo on, which I STILL don’t have… Need to re-tune with the new turbo which I don’t have. All good though, we’ll make it happen, I’m not worried about it. Yet…

GB: How many passes will it take for you to get used to the new cage?
T1: I don’t think it will take me any time to get used to the cage, it’s a bunch of bars but none that really affect me. Only real difference is slightly different seat/shifter/wheel position, but I think I’ll adapt quickly.

Miller:

GB: Yo Miller, what the hell are you up to? Are you gonna be ready for this race or not?
Miller: (Jan 26 text) Damn right I am. It will be a long night at the Shop. The goal is to lock myself in with some Rockstars and pizza, throw on some Jay-z and get in the zone. This motor will be ready to run tonight!

Miller: 3:56am on Tuesday and after finding a ton of issues she is alive and ready!
GB: FUCK YEA!!!

Its always good to see the behind-the-scenes of what racers do, and these guys both worked their asses off this week. From seeing the snow storm that Miller went through to seeing all of the new additions to Tony’s Integra. This all got me on the edge of my seat to start keeping up with the season and anxious to see how the 25.5 cage works out for him, The 67mm car Miller spoke of, and who else is making noise in 2011.

What are you doing this year? Hit us up and let us know. We are always looking for more drag coverage. Info@Greasyblocks.com

2010 for NRG Tech could go along the lines of “we won it all” and list everything that happened this past year. We could also just break that shit down and instead call it “The official 2010 Winning x Drama X Bullshit x Recap” and blow up some servers! This year seriously was a memorable year, so lets recap and also discuss the news of the new Chris Miller Racing for 2011!

Chris Miller Racing.. WTF?
Wait… Chris Miller Racing? We will get to that topic later on. But 1st, who made some real big noise this year? It sure as hell was not those sitting around and twiddling their thumbs.

Javier’s HondaDay.com events

Antoine Dodson

Eibach set some new trends as always (shameless plug!)

Canibeat boys spread their name like gonorrhea

I stayed on Joey’s Chronicles like it was my home page

Dan took CCW Wheels to the moon

Lebron had fools mad with THE DECISION

But if you were like the majority of the east coast, or domestic owners out there, you were drag racing. The strip was on fire this year. Many records were broken, people came back to the drag strip, and All Motor cars reigned terror. No one quite made noise like NRG Tech Racing though. Some for good reasons, but most will say because Chris Miller is the biggest asshole in existence. “FUCK MILLER” comments and emails flooded GreasyBlocks during the buildup to the Fall Nationals after the post where Miller spoke out on the Borg Warner Outlaw Shootout. Miller seemed to have his own drama going on at that time and it just seemed to blow shit even more out of proportion. I can easily tell you that there were just as many “MILLER IS THE MAN” comments coming through. The world cup finals was coming up, and coming off of a win and some surprising talk from everyone in attendance about Miller and his difference for those in attendance of the Outlaw race, I had to go and see what was going on for myself. I wanted to check out the build up to a race with NRG Tech. And not just a build up, but what was panning out to be their most important race of the season, The World Cup Finals at MIR.

Jet Hop to NRG Tech
Now, the Friday before WCF, I touch down in NY to meet Pepsi at the Airport. We drive to Long Island to meet up at the shop and I instantly can tell it is going to be a long night. Cars are still being prepped, there Paul Major’s car is still on the Dyno, Mapps’ car has no turbo or trans on it, and Van Natten seems to have some wheel & slick issues. It was bound to be some time before we loaded up and made the drive to MIR. Everyone is on no sleep, and on top of that Miller and Tom are still tuning and working on 3 customer cars.

World Cup Victory
But this trip was not just racing. Hell even an eventful Friday night out in beautiful downtown Baltimore, which left me very much left me blacked-out-daze. I came back into my light with a wake up text to PJ, Ehren, and myself alerting us of a 8.3 pass. We seemed to be stranded at the time by a dead battery in the truck, while I was puking everywhere and suffering from a ruthless hangover! But that was just part of a weekend that ended with some drama on the track due to tripped beams, and a 15 year mountain climbed. Yes, the 1st Import ever in 15 years to win a class at the notorious Import vs Domestic event, otherwise known as the World Cup Finals. I mean, looking back we could not have had a better weekend. Millers birthday festivities Friday night seemed to be off to a killer start as soon as we stepped foot in the alcohol filled limo, the car seemed to hold together for the event, and PJ even made it back to Long Island to work by 7am the next morning!

See us in action
If you were to dive deeper into this though, its not just a party. I got to see a man who was hands on all weekend. As I watched I saw the whole NRG Tech crew worked like mad men to make sure that everyone was ready to go for their rounds. Pepsi and Miller seemed to be selfless in their efforts for others to get out there and reach their goals as well. I am watching these guys put in work on Van Nattens car, I am seeing Paul and Ehren do WORK out there when the cars are back in the pits, when the car is on the line, any last minute changes that need to be made, but as people roll in I am seeing everyone getting talked to and helped with any questions they may have. The asshole might be an asshole, but you couldn’t find a more helpful guy at the track that day and from what I read from numerous interviews, it is the same at any race you go to.

My Observation
This may do little for some, but to be able to share with you guys a behind the scenes view of the race from an outsider. Over the summer during a rain out at one of the Nyce1s events, Miller and I had our own disagreement/battle and we had it out. But after reading over things, articles, hanging out, etc, there are not many people I would want to be at the track with come race time. One of the best at track tuners that I have seen. Between this guy and Tony Palo, Sport Compact Racing has some extreme talent at the track.

What to look forward to?
As the years progress, more people are following the sport and we are attracting the attention comparable to what it once had. In a perfect world, we can look forward and say we will double our attendance in 2011 to the drag racing events but this is no pipe dream. Any attendance we get will have to be from the footwork we get, through publication, records broke, top notch race car fabrication, and most importantly what sells in racing. Chris Miller seemed to sell pretty well in 2010 packing out venues and grudge matches all over the east. North Carolina came out especially strong to see Howard from RLZ throw it down against Miller. People left saying boy put on a show on that unsafe “dirt track” in Fayetteville, laying down a solid 8.6 pass ON THE BRAKES, as he put it. No matter what was happening other places, people came to see the race. It was raining like a bitch at the beginning of the day too. Shot outs to Nyce1s for even giving the Carolinians a race, and something to look forward to in 2011.

What does Miller have to say?
I got together with Miller recently, along with the NRG Tech family, to ask about a few things and put some light on the year from his eyes. I asked him a few questions and because I wanted to know how he felt about the year now in the rear view!

GB: We had a wild year, Chris! I don’t even want to waste Time, tell me about the top 5 race moments for you this year.
CM: My top 5 moments of my season is gonna be tough. I racked up 12 event wins and the NSCRA championship. It was a really long season and a lot of shit happened. I have to say My top 5 is gonna be tough but I’ll give it a whirl.

5. I would have to say number 5 would be winning the outlaw shootout at etown again. 2 years in a row is a great accomplishment and I am proud to defend the title again this year. It was yet again another great event and can’t wait to do it again next season.

4. Number 4 would have to be Kevin Van Nattens first 8 second pass. It was a long season for us with Kevin’s car and to be able to be at the line and watch him be the first car in sfwd trim to break into the 8’s was awesome. He busted his ass and is as dedicated as it comes to this sport. Definitely one of my top moments for sure.

3. Rob Mapps winning the NSCRA championship. Rob and his dad Ralph are what this sport needs more of. People who eat, breathe, sleep, and dream of racing. These guys use a damn minivan and haul tow dolly to get to races all over the country and nothing stops them from making it. They have had numerous all nighters at the shop and countless hours besides that to get the car to events. If it wasn’t for bad luck rob wouldn’t have any. We never got to run the car at its full potential or even really close to it cause we were constantly plagued with issues. I am super proud to be able to have Rob racing with me and it was awesome being there to see him achieve what he set out in the beginning of the season to do, win the NSCRA championship.

2. This one would have been number one if my season didn’t end the way it did but being at the line when Jose “pepsi” Bello went 10.1 was awesome. The adrenaline high was insane. I have never jumped so high in my life and I knew the car had it in it. I had the data compiled and knew if we could put together a good clean pass a .1 or even a 10.0 was possible. Well we got the .1 now and we have set our goals to be the first in the 9’s. This fat fucker deserves so much credit. His pursuit of perfection shows in his engines he builds to the way he drives. Always looking to better himself. My favorite engine builder I love you like a fat kid loves the san Guiseppes truck.

1. Number Fucking 1! World Fucking Cup, Need I say more? This race has haunted my dreams for years. I had a few goals this year and my number 1 was to come back to MIR and win wild street. I was tired of hearing it about how I threw it away in 09 and the issues I had previous years. I was tired of hearing how no import has ever won and was never going to win. Well here we are in Jan and I still can’t believe that I proudly earned the wild street cup.

I know that you are probably saying that 2,3 and 4 aren’t my races or personal highlights but they are. Watching my guys set records and win races means just as much to me as it does winning my own personal races and setting my own records. I know these guys feel the same. I have so many memories that extend past the ones written above but I have to keep it somewhat short. (GB:Miller didn’t have to keep it short, he just ran out of typing room on the blackberry!)

Chris Miller Racing 2011
Chris Miller Racing! You guys didn’t think I forgot did you? Chris Miller Racing is the new business in 2011 and is takes sole focus on the racing aspect of Chris Miller. It is a separate business from NRG Tech, but no worries, Chris and NRG Tech Racing have not split. This is just to take focus on racing, not daily operations. I heard wind of a new car in the works as well, but this project could be just words in the wind with no real substance. Keep your eyes peeled to NRGTechRacing.com and Greasy Blocks for more information on this, as well as an official press release with details on Chris Miller Racing!

GB: You did not do this alone by far. Who would you like to thank, man?
CM: This is gonna be long but I ask that you all read every damn word I write. These companies all deserve to be recognized for being apart of my team.

AEM
First off I would have to thank AEM electronics, these guys are amazing and have an amazing product to be proud of. A lot of people don’t want to believe it but the product is there and its real. It took me a little bit to adapt to it and once I did I fell in love. Devin, Kirk and the rest of the staff at AEM are all great people and are always looking to take their product one step further.

The Drive Shaft Shop
Next has to be Drive Shaft Shop. Frank, Lee , Tad and the crew over at DSS are the best in the axle/drive shaft business hands down. If you aren’t dealing with DSS you aren’t dealing with the right people. These guys are what we use in all of projects in the shop and on the track. Great product and even better customer service. It must be that southern love rubbing off on the NY guys that make em so nice.

Precision Turbo
Really need I say anymore. There is no other company dedicated and as knowledgeable about performance turbo chargers then precision. These guys and girls are beads. They do what they say they are gonna do and then some. It is just insane what they can do and how dedicated they are to be #1 in everything they are involved in. A huge thank you to Dan Bar log, Harry Hruska, Pete Barton, Justin “cheeks”, Joe, Deanna, Genuine, Scott, Aaron, Wee and anyone I forgot I am really sorry but you guys are all awesome and are always there. Thanks for being who you are.

EFI Wizard
Bad ass injectors. Plain and simple. A huge thanks for helping me out when I needed it most.

Web Camshafts
God damn. You guys rock. Debbie, Laurie and the rest of the crew over there are among the nicest people in this whole damn industry to deal with. That Alex “sheep ey” guy is alright too. A quick story about these people, not only do they constantly keep surprising me with their product but on my birthday while on the return road at MIR during world cup I see my phone is ringing and its web cams, I answer and to my shock it is the web cam girls singing me happy birthday. Vaccine awesome. Made my day and goes to show they are just down right awesome people.

Avid Racing
Franklin and the rest of those crazy maple syrup drinking Canadians can make a solid engine mount that won’t fail.

NRG Tech Racing
This is my home. My team and my family is what this is. This is what started it all and will continue to be the backbone to my racing. I have to thank everyone in the shop Tom Liner and Bill Draghi. These two suckers can make anything a reality. They can fabricate anything I can dream up and sometimes make my visions better then I ever thought. Pepsi, Gio, Greg, Paul Pero, Ehren, Mapps, Ralph and anyone who I forgot I still love you. Thanks for the late nights, the sleepless nights and days and for all the help.

How can we all help?
The thank yous from Chris were long, but with a supporting cast like the one he has listed really came through for the team this year. Now look around the industry, or even at your local races and look for the logos, banners, etc. and see who is supporting the racers next to you and the event you are at? Who gives contingency to the racers for being noticed and winning? Who talks about the races and profiles the drivers on their sites and in their publications? Support these companies, so that they can support our racing scene. The amount of support shown to the guys competing is that extra mile. They see the next race. You have guys all over the nation that are breaking records and drawing crowds. Show them the love and follow them. They are the foot soldiers for this new-age racing movement in 2011 and beyond.

GB: As always, you have to end with a closing statement. But instead of just closing off, I have one last question for you that I want to end on. I want to think about your entire year of 2010, from beginning to end. What did you come out of this year learning, knowing now, and/or regretting?
CM: I will end it all by saying thank you once again to all the great companies I have in my corner, AEM electronics, Drive Shaft Shop, EFI Wizard fuel injectors, Precision turbo, Web camshafts, Avid engine mounts, Konstant Design and of course my shop NRG tech. Without all of you what we achieved as a team in 2010 wouldn’t be possible. You are all an integral part of my team and hope to continue forging a relationship with everyone of you in the future.

Ben, you asked me to make a statement about what I took from this year knowing now, learning and regretting. Well that is pretty crazy cause I learned a lot and regret none. I learned a lot about life and how you can’t regret anything. Shit happens for a reason, life happens. That’s how I look at life these days enjoy life, live life without regret and look forward to doing it all over again when I open my eyes the next day.

Did I learn?
This year, I too learned a great deal about life and how to tackle the situations we come across daily. One thing I do know, is that I enjoyed every second of being a part of this industry in 2010, and look to be more involved with 2011 with my new business ventures across the nation.

I guess this story may prove that not everything is as it seems. Or, if I am wrong, it at least proves that I am a prime example of why you should go drink with these guys! See you guys at the track and on the forums in 2011!

Chris Shook things up in his last interview. Emails rolled in, forums lit up with page after page comment about how much of an ass he was, and I even got calls about it. This guy point blank pissed off a lot of people. This past weekend though, NRG Tech stood strong and made statement after statement. We are going to talk to Chris to see more on how his weekend went down. We have drama to!

1. Miller Miller Miller! The last interview we did raised some eyebrows, and raked in over 15,000 page views in just over 3 weeks. You talked a big game in the last one, but now it looks like you went out and proved it. Were you nervous going into the event Saturday morning?

Nervous? Why would I be nervous? Its just another day at the office. Once its race day the nerves are calm and my mind switches to race mode. From that point on nervous doesn’t exist as a feeling.

I am stoked that so many people read the last interview and that is what’s its all about. I had numerous people this past weekend tell me that they were at the track just cause of the drama that unfolded due to that interview. That’s what it is all about right? Giving the fans a show on and off the track. Something to keep it all fresh in their mind. Something for everyone to talk about leading into the next race.

2. The competition all wanted to cut that ass at the race. Did you have any pre race chat with the competition or was it straight business and last minute prep?

I talk to everyone or at least mostly everyone. We all were there to have a good time and race and that’s what we did. I had to put my car together at the track Friday night as I got my trans parts on the way to the track Friday. Once I was done putting my car back together we all spent some time catching up and having a little fun before heading out to dinner then back to the room for a little sleep. I mean a little, I think I got a total of about 6 hours in 3 nights. Lol. Have to love race weekends.

3. What were the track conditions like this weekend? Any Complaints?

Fuck no, etown does an amazing job to make sure the track is safe and the prep is good. OGS stays on top of shit and with them working together we have a safe track to run down and it never crosses my mind of there being an issue track related. Thanks to the whole etown crew and OGS for the great track and sorry to the 3 guys at the end of the track who would go running every time I came into the last turnoff hot. Lol.

4. That 8.43 pass Saturday night. I was sitting on the computer, watching the live feed. When you ran that, the forums came alive with chatter. Many said that it was a poor decision to run that considering that you were facing disqualification. Was that run to make a point?

You know what, fuck them. Yeah I know, it was stupid, I am unprofessional, blah blah blah. You want unprofessional well there it is. If you could put a number on the board like that you would. So to all the little keyboard warriors. Fuck off and keep saying how stupid of a move it was while sitting at your computer desk. Not one person came up to me and said how “stupid” it was. Its only the jerk-offs who are sitting home behind a computer screen with Honda tech on one tab and redtube on the other. The thing that gets me is that a lot of the keyboard warriors, e-racers or whatever you wanna call em don’t even come to the events. We had people from the uk, panama, canada, DR, PR, italy and many other places yet the online warriors didn’t show there face. They can’t be bothered to actually go to a race.

But to answer your question, yes it was to prove a point. And yes to answer the question that some have asked. Yes, the car can possibly, just maybe go a little quicker . Lol.

5. The with the money on the line, were you out for the money, or did making a statement mean more to you and your business?

The money is great, all spent already. Lol. We got a little crazy at Fridays after the win on Sunday and a bar tab and dinner tab for 56 people gets up there quick. Lol. Fuckin speed factory had like 20 something people. Lol. It was all worth it. Had a great time and got the west cost guys coming back next year to do it all over again. But its all about having fun at the end of the day. I could have put the car on the trailer after breaking cert on both ends and been happy cause that’s what I said I was gonna do but I wanted to win the event and complete the weekend.

6. NRG Tech Racing rolled strong this weekend at the event setting record after record. Now that the fall nationals is history, do you have any other races you are setting your eyes on or is this it for you this year?

Man this weekend was crazy, we left etown with 3 records, obviously the outlaw one but the other 2 really meant a lot to me also. Cause the 2 fuckers give their all to this sport, from sleeping in trucks and spending countless days at the shop and hotels and just giving all they have to give to make races. In all motor street with jose “pepsi” bello and his 10.16@132, that was amazing. I thought I was gonna bump my head on the tower I jumped so high. Lol. kevin van natten with 3 back to back 8 second passes in sfwd trim. The plan was to run sfwd with kevins car but we decided last minuter to fatten up the outlaw field. These are 2 cars I am proud to tune and be apart of. Part of the nrg family.

Sorry for the rant but I am so fuckin happy for those 2 guys right there, but yes we still have 2 races on the schedule. World cup at MIR and NSCRA world finals in December at pbir. Just cause we love racing.

7. There is the talk now that tracks could blackflag you for not having the proper safety equipment for the car. Are you going to change to the 25.5 spec cage and have the car re-certified now, or are you going to retire the car?

There is a lot of talk of what is going to happen for next season but I guess everyone is gonna have to keep checkin back here at greasy blocks and nyce’1s through out the winter for the official 2011 press release video.

8. We always go right to what we want to say about the industry, but industry isn’t everything. What has this year been like for you? Has be been a lot of ups and downs? Also, does this win bring and new record bring some fresh air and a chance for you to relax a little bit?

The industry is what it is, it is up to us to put on a show and put the interest back into peoples heads and we are trying to do that. This year for me has had its fair share of ups and downs business wise and I made a few bad investments but that’s business/life. You pick up and keep your head high and move on. As I always say,” it could be worse”.

Relax? There is no relaxing. You relax and you get left behind. Our team doesn’t relax, we all push each other. We all have the drive to win and be the best at what we do. I have a lot of new ideas and things to fix or make better to keep going faster and faster. 2011 is going to be another great season and I see this sport on its the upswing.

9. There was talk of a crack in your cylinder head either in the semi finals or the finals. What was the deal with that, and what did you guys do to fix it?

The head was cracked after qualifying. It was cracked on the 8.43@181 qualifier and just got worse and worse each pass. It is what it is. I made a mistake and it bit me in the ass or should say it almost bit me in the ass. With these cars the egt’s get so hot when back pressure is too high and I ran the car with too much boost and too much fuel. So egt’s were through the roof and that led to some cracked exhaust ports. We did a quick fix and just had to make sure I didn’t let the engine cool off too much. That’s part of racing. It wouldn’t be a racing weekend for us if everything went smooth. Has to be some drama.

10. Last, What was your favorite pass of the weekend that you made? What was the best pass that you watched from the sidelines? Who was your favorite racer of the weekend?

That’s a hard one, the 8.43@181 was crazy but so was the quickest and fastest side by side fwd street cars with kevin van natten in the other lane. I mean that was crazy as I tune that car also and that pass meant a lot. The round with reynolds was awesome, I live for those moments at the tree. And of course can’t forget the finals, I mean come on. Sending those west coast fags packing was great, lol. Sorry SF crew, someones gotta be that guy and it seems like its me. Lol

From the sidelines was pepsi 10.16 and kevins first 8. I was lucky enough to be at the line for both of those.

Favorite racer? Hmmm I don’t know. I have to say cunha, that guy and his crew are fuckin die hard. They never give up and know how to blow shit up. That’s my type of racer. Someone who doesn’t give a shit and will do whatever it takes to make it happen on race day.

After Miller and I talked, and I let these questions sizzle a little, we started to chit chat again via text. This guy completely changed my outlook on this weekend and the racers who raced. Everyone made sacrifices, everyone had problems, and at the end of the day, everyone had a different outlook on each other.

Miller added when we were talking:

I want to tell you a little something that has been on my mind. Shortly after the last interview I ran into someone who in this industry that I respect very much and that is Mr. Charlie Schafer. He just like everyone else read my last interview and he said something that has stuck in my head. He said to me ” this isn’t the wwe, trash talkin like that won’t get you far in this industry”. Now don’t get me wrong I totally understand where he is coming from and like I said I respect him and thank him for his advice but I am not asking for anything from the industry. I am not asking for the corporate sponsors who want to clean up my image or make me a robot. I do this shit cause I love it. Racing is in my fuckin blood and its my life. I will do what I can how I can with what I got. If sponsors don’t wanna help me cause I curse and talk shit, then I don’t wanna be affiliated with them either. Until the day comes where I can’t race or I decide to take a step back a little I will continue to be me and me is what you will get. If you don’t like me, well take a look at the right sleeve on my track shirts and you will understand.

I will keep reading that over and over.

Miller left the interview with a few thank you and shot out notes:

I would like to thank all of the companies who support me, being a dickhead and all. Precision Turbo, the baddest fuckin turbos in the world hands down, Spec Clutch, AEM electronics, EFI Wizard fuel injectors, Konstant Design, AVID Racing, Drive Shaft Shop, The Sign Lab. All the Media Coverage, Greasy Blocks of course, NYCE1’s, GRS motorpsorts, Inside import and all the other who are spreading the coverage around. Also my Entire crew, you guys are the best. It is the entire team as to why we do what we do race after race, year after year. Thanks to all my family and friends who stand by me on and off the track. Everyone else can kick rocks. And with all that being said, Until the next episode of when the lights drop.

Thanks for getting together with me Chris, the whole NRG Tech crew, and to everyone who had a part in helping this day come together. We wouldn’t be writing anything if people did not step up and make it happen.

1. Since we are no strangers to interviews, i am just going to jump straight in and go at you with the “will we see you racing?” line.

Fuck yeah, you really think I was not going to race. I held out and said I wasnt racing for one reason and one reason only. Now that the issue has been resolved I am gonna be there and taking the big plastic check back to NY with me where it belongs…

2. You said you have been on the brakes with these .60s and these 170+ passes. Why tease us?! Break that cert!

I am not saying I was on the brakes for my .60 passes but I will say it wasnt turned up all the way. I have been on the brakes a good amount this season and there are many reasons for that. I have said it time and time again I can make my car go a .6x down a dirt road. I proved that in NC, while everyone was bitching about the track conditions and how bad shit was I just tuned to the track. That is most peoples problem, they are racing the person next to them and not the track or the conditions. You have to take it all into account and attack the tune up as so. When RLZ went a 9.0 in the prior round to racing me last weekend I knew I had to do something and that something wasnt running an .8x. I had to take a good look at the trck and the conditons and attack the round as I needed a low .7x or high .6x and thats what I did. I broke cert already, 180 at atco last year. Ill break the et cert, i am not worried about that. I concentrate my efforts on winning one round at a time and one event at a time. Breaking cert is something that will happen but I wont throw away a win over it.

3. Has the car been consistent over the past few months or are you still working with it to get it dialed in just right?

The car is consistent enough to win races right now but I am still not happy. I have been trying out alot of new things and still trying to push the envelope. That is what keeps us ahead of the pack. We never rest, never stop trying to better the program. This is why my car is the most influential car in outlaw fwd drag racing and anyone who doesnt agree with that is lying to themselves. We work very closely with many companies to get their products better and better. It is then once it is all figured out that everyone else gets to benefit from them. Look at companies like Drive Shaft Shop, Precision Turbo, Spec Clutch, EFI wizzard, Web Cams and that is to just name a few. We test and test and test these products, break them and work along with these companies so that they can better there product and so that racers know they are getting the best product they can recieve. That is why these companies along with NRG tech is ontop. None of use are ever content with our current state. Always wanting to take it to the next level. There are alot of new things that will be revealed this upcoming winter for the 2011 season, and a few new companies we are working with. Keep your eyes open for some press releases coming out in the near future.

4. NRG Tech is once again looking strong this year. How many cars do you guys have confirmed for this years event?

We will have a few, an exact count is not available right now. Alot of people had a bad 2010 and we are trying our hardest to get as many cars there this year as possible but alot of these cars are still apart and only time will tell when they will be ready to go.

5. Speedfactory, TDautowerks, T1, and a few others are wanting to crack the ass of the magician. what do you have to say to your competitors?

Really? Out of the 3 you mentioned only one is even worth my time to write about and that is T1. Tony, Mike, Nelly and the rest of the T1 crew are a talaneted group and innovators. They arent the copy paste, pray for a miracle type of team. They know why things happen and how to make things happen. Hopefully we will get to line up in october at some point and like I told Tony, that number 2 qualifier spot has his name written all over it. If I hurt anyones feelings, well I am sorry. I will mail you a box of fuckin tissues, Damian(td autowerks), yours are already in the mail playboy.

6. who do you think would be your strongest competitor at the event? My southern boys run strong!

7. Last year, you had a crazy week before the event. I called you on the phone and you guys were camping out at the shop! Are we going to get a repeat of that?

Yeah dude, last year was nuts but that is how this place is every time before any event. It is like that right now before the NSCRA finals this weekend. We usually have a team of atleast 5 cars at any given event and that equals alot of long hours leading to any event. I dont think fall nationals will be any different at all.

8. Do you think that the Fall nationals has taken the sport to new levels and pushed the competitive nature of import drag racing?

I think fall nationals is one of the events that has shown people what this sport still has left in it. From the all motor class to the sfwd class, to the quick 32 class this event is plain out sick. Nobody should miss this event. Nobody.

I have lost 2 engines to be exact to fuel pump issues.
10. What do you say to everyone out there who is hesitating or “thinking” of putting in drivers deposits?

It is tough, I understand alot of cars arent done and people are tight with money but the people who have a done car need to get the deposits in.

Everyone knows what Miller said he is not running at the Fall Nationals, but read here to see what he had to say to GreasyBlocks on the Airwerks by Borg Warner Turbo Systems $10,000 Outlaw Street FWD Shootout at the upcoming Sport Compact Fall Nationals!

1. Since we are no strangers to interviews, I am just going to jump straight in and go at you with the “will we see you racing?” line.

Miller: Fuck yeah, you really think I was not going to race. I held out and said I wasn’t racing for one reason and one reason only. Now that the issue has been resolved I am gonna be there and taking the big plastic check back to NY with me where it belongs…

2. You said you have been on the brakes with these .60s and these 170+ passes. Why tease us?! Break that cert!

Miller: I am not saying I was on the brakes for my .60 passes but I will say it wasn’t turned up all the way. When RLZ went a 9.0 in the prior round to racing me last weekend I knew I had to do something and that something wasn’t running an .8x. I had to take a good look at the track and the conditions and attack the round as I needed a low .7x or high .6x and that’s what I did. I broke cert already, 180 at atco last year.
