GRS saved many people who are not there by posting some great coverage. Someone posted this and I have to repost with a simple message. Take a look at this pass, reflect on it, and then say our sport is not more alive than ever. Way to go Chris for another good record.

Norris posted a video you guys have to see! Friday night, 10-01-10, Jason Miller made a post saying that Jonathan Reynolds made a 8.65 pass in the Integra @175mph. This pass is another record setting pass for the K-Series motor, which has not had the success of the B-Series just yet in the Outlaw class. Looks like this Outlaw race has some footwork to go with all of the hype!

1. How is the car doing on the fresh build? What were the previous problems that prompted this new build?
The fresh build is uberstrong. We installed individual EGT’s cause we had issues with exhaust valves bending due to heat, but Ferrea and TD worked diligently to get the issue resolved. Their products are top notch!! We have multiple track and dyno hits and the motor is a champ! We also had an issue with a rod bearing earlier this year. So we now do all of our engine builds inhouse!
2. Have you been had a chance to test the hatch on the track yet or is the car fully dialed in and ready at this point?
The few passes that we have made have given us good valueable information. We found a HUGE boost leak on the compressor outlet vband flange a few weeks back. The car had not been ran since Miller F’d us up @ MIR. So the setup is more efficient and making good power @ the same boost levels.
3. Have you changed a lot of the car’s setup? Is the car getting the “outlaw” treatment?
The setup is pretty much the same. We are adding a catchpan under the motor and probably removing the passenger seat. Besides that its not getting any changes besides some spark plugs and an oil change!
4. This rivalry with T1 and the other racers is funny very entertaining. Where did it all begin?
Tony is one of the most down-to-earth guys I deal with. From a friend/advice standpoint and from a business standpoint! On the other hand, the shit talking has been going on forever! We talk more shit over text and facebook to each other than any of you can imagine! Most of us do business together! Speedfactory/ cesar from Stage6/TPR ROB/ garry eng /norris we all buy from each other and help each other out! the shit talking is just an added bonus. I think I end every sentence with cesar with “im gonna bust your ass”.
5. On the Miller situation, this rivalry seems a little more like a grudge match. What what do you have to say about the comments made?
Whether it be poker/basketball/baseball or racing, everyone wants to be the best! This sport is about $ and he with the most of it will win! At the end of the day when I read Millers interview he got a nice text message that read ” you have a slick ass mouth, im gonna put my &^%$ in it in NJ”. to which he nicely replied ” fuck you” lol (he thinks im kidding!)
6. Is there anyone besides Miller you are looking forward to seeing at the Line? I hear the EK and Reynolds have a score to settle unfinished business!
Beating Reynolds would be nice. We never really got that score settled @ MIR! But honestly i would like to see everyone there! seems like only 6 of us have put $ and id love to take home my full $10,000!! Id love to line up against Tony also…. dunno what would happen but its someone we never ever lined up against!
7. The Fall Nationals is perfect grounds to get the last laugh of the year, on one of the biggest stages in the US, being Englishtown. What do you guys have to say about the event?
Being the last event we plan on attending for 2010, we are planning on putting the motor at the verge of destruction! I hope people do the same and dont hold back! Breaking CERT is something that may happen. I hope we put on a show for the fans and that people talk about the event for months!!!!!
8. You are one of the only K-powered cars signed up so far, in a field dominated by the B-series. Has this been more of a problem? What is the transmission setup at the moment?
I dont see any problems with the B series. Most of the cars quicker than us, have been @ the game waaaay longer and have more experience with their particular setup! we are learning more and more about the K and know it has the potential to hurt some B series feelings! The tranny setup is a PPG dogbox wth all the bells and whitsles. Together with the DSS pro level spool + axles+ intermediate bar! We wont let a broken axle cost us a race like it did with Cesthechump @ last years December NSCRA!
9. What would it mean to TD to bring home a win in the Outlaw Class?
The $ would be fantastic! No Lie! But i think we do it mainly for pride and shop exposure! A win to TD Autowerkes (the # 1 shop in the southeast US) will hopefully double yearly sales!!! lol
10. Do you have anything to say to the racers and the people who are thinking of attending the Fall Natioanls?
I say stop wasting $ at strip clubs and motels and book a flight! Ive seen round trip flights for $225 on jet blue an AA! Im picking up Shawn R on the way up. Mainly for RH. But this is the one event people shold go to! I can guarantee only 1 thing! TD will come back with either a WIN or a BLOWN MOTOR! but m not letting cocksucker Miller or any other asshole beat me again! 55 PSI or bust!

Damian Borroto of TD Autowerkes is next in path for an interview. With TD being a high powered car on the track, I wanted to see how he felt coming into the final 2 weeks before the Airwerks Borg Warner $10,000 Outlaw Shootout @Englishtown Raceway Park. These guys have a plan to rip New Jersey apart! (more…)

1. Since we are no strangers to interviews, i am just going to jump straight in and go at you with the “will we see you racing?” line.
Fuck yeah, you really think I was not going to race. I held out and said I wasnt racing for one reason and one reason only. Now that the issue has been resolved I am gonna be there and taking the big plastic check back to NY with me where it belongs…
2. You said you have been on the brakes with these .60s and these 170+ passes. Why tease us?! Break that cert!
I am not saying I was on the brakes for my .60 passes but I will say it wasnt turned up all the way. I have been on the brakes a good amount this season and there are many reasons for that. I have said it time and time again I can make my car go a .6x down a dirt road. I proved that in NC, while everyone was bitching about the track conditions and how bad shit was I just tuned to the track. That is most peoples problem, they are racing the person next to them and not the track or the conditions. You have to take it all into account and attack the tune up as so. When RLZ went a 9.0 in the prior round to racing me last weekend I knew I had to do something and that something wasnt running an .8x. I had to take a good look at the trck and the conditons and attack the round as I needed a low .7x or high .6x and thats what I did.  I broke cert already, 180 at atco last year. Ill break the et cert, i am not worried about that. I concentrate my efforts on winning one round at a time and one event at a time. Breaking cert is something that will happen but I wont throw away a win over it.
3. Has the car been consistent over the past few months or are you still working with it to get it dialed in just right?
The car is consistent enough to win races right now but I am still not happy.  I have been trying out alot of new things and still trying to push the envelope. That is what keeps us ahead of the pack. We never rest, never stop trying to better the program. This is why my car is the most influential car in outlaw fwd drag racing and anyone who doesnt agree with that is lying to themselves. We work very closely with many companies to get their products better and better. It is then once it is all figured out that everyone else gets to benefit from them. Look at companies like Drive Shaft Shop, Precision Turbo, Spec Clutch, EFI wizzard, Web Cams and that is to just name a few. We test and test and test these products, break them and work along with these companies so that they can better there product and so that racers know they are getting the best product they can recieve. That is why these companies along with NRG tech is ontop. None of use are ever content with our current state. Always wanting to take it to the next level. There are alot of new things that will be revealed this upcoming winter for the 2011 season, and a few new companies we are working with. Keep your eyes open for some press releases coming out in the near future.
4. NRG Tech is once again looking strong this year. How many cars do you guys have confirmed for this years event?
We will have a few, an exact count is not available right now. Alot of people had a bad 2010 and we are trying our hardest to get as many cars there this year as possible but alot of these cars are still apart and only time will tell when they will be ready to go.
5. Speedfactory, TDautowerks, T1, and a few others are wanting to crack the ass of the magician. what do you have to say to your competitors?
Really? Out of the 3 you mentioned only one is even worth my time to write about and that is T1. Tony, Mike, Nelly and the rest of the T1 crew are a talaneted group and innovators. They arent the copy paste, pray for a miracle type of team. They know why things happen and how to make things happen. Hopefully we will get to line up in october at some point and like I told Tony, that number 2 qualifier spot has his name written all over it.  If I hurt anyones feelings, well I am sorry. I will mail you a box of fuckin tissues, Damian(td autowerks), yours are already in the mail playboy.
6. who do you think would be your strongest competitor at the event? My southern boys run strong!
Read my response to #5 and you will understand. At the end of the day the north east runs fwd drag racing, TEAM NORTH STAND UP!!!!
7. Last year, you had a crazy week before the event. I called you on the phone and you guys were camping out at the shop! Are we going to get a repeat of that?
Yeah dude, last year was nuts but that is how this place is every time before any event. It is like that right now before the NSCRA finals this weekend. We usually have a team of atleast 5 cars at any given event and that equals alot of long hours leading to any event. I dont think fall nationals will be any different at all.
8. Do you think that the Fall nationals has taken the sport to new levels and pushed the competitive nature of import drag racing?
I think fall nationals is one of the events that has shown people what this sport still has left in it. From the all motor class to the sfwd class, to the quick 32 class this event is plain out sick. Nobody should miss this event. Nobody.
9. I see you had fuel pump issues that you said lead to 3 different engine failures? are you going to keep requesting that the rules be opened to allow mechanical fuel pumps instead of just electronic?
I have lost 2 engines to be exact to fuel pump issues. I asked and got the answers I needed, like I said alot of things will be revealed in the upcoming months. People need to keep checking back
www.nrgtechracing.blogspot.com and greasyblocks.com for any and all updates and press releases.
10. What do you say to everyone out there who is hesitating or “thinking” of putting in drivers deposits?
It is tough, I understand alot of cars arent done and people are tight with money but the people who have a done car need to get the deposits in.

Everyone knows what Miller said he is not running at the Fall Nationals, but read here to see what he had to say to GreasyBlocks on the Airwerks by Borg Warner Turbo Systems $10,000 Outlaw Street FWD Shootout at the upcoming Sport Compact Fall Nationals! (more…)

Hobbs posted up some video from the 1st trip to the track in his build thats been going on for the last 2 years. He posted up:

I havent ran This car yet. first time out. Had a few issues and I need a ton of seat time. Not really happy with the results but the will come in due time.

Also, Hobbs explains that this is much different than what he is used to driving.

Here is pass #2:

Good luck in the next trip to the track. With a little seat time and some time checking out the logs, you will find where you are slipping. Your MPH is there!

I am nuts over this new vette setup that Tim Lynch and Steve Petty have put together. The car has an amazing sense for attention to detail, and nothing has been overlooked. True Craftsmanship.
